Hide-N-Seek
I had my second doctor appointment on Thursday. It was pretty standard... pee in a cup, weigh in, blood pressure, answer any questions, and then check for the heartbeat. My blood pressure was "perfect" and I gained a couple pounds (according to my scale I hadn't... but my first appointment was in the morning and this one was in the afternoon). The doctor brought in a Doppler to listen to the heartbeat and he searched for a few minutes. Then he went and got a new battery, listened some more, got a new Doppler, listened some more and nothing! I had heard this could happen so I wasn't too stressed. Then he said..."Ah, let's just go look at it instead!" So, I got another quick ultrasound! This one was pretty blurry (my bladder was empty!) but we could see the baby's heart beating away! The doc moved around and we saw the profile of the face, but the most clear was when the leg went up and kicked! I saw toes! And the baby seemed to have the hiccups because he/she kept bouncing! Little active thing! It's beginning to seem real! Seeing the heartbeat is great, but I want to hear it! Maybe next month.I think I am coming out of the morning sickness phase! I still get a bit nauseated, but I think that has to do it being 110 d egrees outside! But now I have hit the emotional stage! I watch TV and tear up. I have friends going through some rough times and you would think it was us by the way I can't stop crying! Sheesh! Scott just laughs, but I feel like a crazy lady! The joys of pregnancy! Yeah!
